I am very proud to be a Catholic Christian because I am quite sure that I belong to the True Church established by the Lord Jesus Christ in Jerusalem on 33 AD as he promised in Matthew 16:18 "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it." In this verse the Lord is teaching us he will build a church, and this church belongs to him - "my church". Since this church belongs to him, any power of Satan such as death and Hades will never overcome it - "the gates of Hades will not overcome it.". Nowadays, many hundreds of sects and denominations claimed that their own particular group is the true church founded by Christ believing that the true church of Jesus Christ was apostatized and became an instrument of Satan. This is not true - their no such Satanic-power enough that can destroyed the true church of the Lord. It is a historical fact that from the first century down to the present era the true church founded by Christ is very much alive; it survived from the all the persecutions imputed on it - from the sharp teeth of wild beasts of the Roman arena of the past and the present sharp tongue of malicious detraction and calumnies of today's church persecutors. Know your history lesson - this church was called Christians at Antioch but then was called Catholic by the Apostolic Fathers who were then disciples of the apostle John such as Ignatius of Antioch and Polycarp of Smyrna both bishops of the early Catholic Church. This Church was acknowledged and accepted by the Roman Empire,  by So it is not true that Church was destroyed and that there is a need for Jesus to establish another one.
